Is God surrounded by silence or by worship in the form of music? Is there classical music around him, Gregorian songs perhaps? Or more a symphony with a big string orchestra? Or maybe a rock band with drums and saxophone? We all know that God is different. We all know that he is not a part of our daily routine, of our business goals, of our targets and figures. He is different. He is the Lord, above all, in everything. He is all-powerful, he can do easily what our best efforts will not manage to achieve! And in all of this he is a God of beauty, the God of melodies, of accords, of discords as well - a God of art. {{2010_03_17.jpg }} **My personal track record in music** Music changes our life. When I was young, I started to practice and train music. I learned to play the recorder, then the violin, then the piano. That was very fascinating. From the age of 11 I played in the local orchestra of our musical school. From the age of 14 I was part of the state youth orchestra, with training weeks several times a year, then concerts in France, Germany, Portugal, Poland etc. I grew into a semi-professional musical business ... with wonderful times and with quite hard times as well - competition can be fierce. What role does music play in your life. Is it life giving? Does it link you to the Lord and God of this creation? Or are you part of the business world of music? Are you practicing hard to get a job in some orchestra or to get your latest CD published and sold? Are you traveling around to give concerts, with hotel rooms several evenings a week and changing concert halls? {{ 2010_03_17_2.jpg}} **God is a musician** God has created music and art. He has given us ears and the feeling for rhythm. But more than that: music gives a different dimension to our life, which takes us out of the needs to earn our bread, out of our goals to make progress in our careers. Of course there is also the musical career. But music itself has a different mode. It is full of silence, full of noise, full of time which has its own rhythm. Music talks by melodies which are integrated into a whole, about the peace and flow of tones and shades. Music can be pressing forward sometimes, it can be relaxing a moment later. It can be loud and it can be very calm. Forte fortissimo and piano pianissimo. Allegro - full of joy. Or lento. Staccato. Piano subito ... I am quite sure that God is a musician. He plays music - all different kinds of music. Sometimes you find him with a flute sitting in our roads. He is watching the busy men hurrying forward to work and back. Then he is standing in some room in the backyard of a large building, practicing violin. He tries hard to get the right shape into a melody. He does it again and again. He is still creative today, the melodies of life are not finished, he is creating new possibilities every day, new melodies and new symphonies.
