Responsibility needs decisions. If we just follow the way which is easy or which everyone follows, we will not be able to do well. We will not be able to act responsibly in this case. We need to find out what is right and good, and then do it. We need to be different! {{2010_08_10.jpg }} **Be different!** Being different is important. Jesus was different. He did not behave like everyone else. His influence on other people mainly came from this fact, that he was different indeed! He did not judge anyone, but he had a clear opinion about right and wrong. He did not follow the mainstream - neither a liberal mainstream nor any particular conservative or right-wing mainstream. He was different, open and strict, warm and aggressive at the same time. We can be different. Being different is not a value by itself. You can kill many people and be different by weird actions. But you can also be different by being nice, being open, having clear principles which come from the Lord. These will not be just conservative principles, not principles of judgment, but principles of love and solidarity and forgiveness and responsibility. {{ 2010_08_10_2.jpg}} **God's way ...** God showed us his way. It is a way of responsibility for our neighbors. It is a way of balance, of both hard work and sufficient times to relax and recover. It is a way where we find time for the Lord in the middle of busy days. God's way is fantastic. God's way is a way in the middle of our daily life, in our job, in our family, in our community. He wants us to live here, in the middle of a modern world. He wants us to live together with him. Believe in me - that is also spoken into the 21st century. Follow me - that is spoken to the people in the far east as well as in the west, in the north as well as in the south. Come and be my children. Be responsible and balanced.
