======The biblical letters ...======
Monday, Oct 18, 2010. The New Testament contains the four gospels
named after Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. They tell the life story of
Jesus, who is called the Christ. Jesus is the center of the
New Testament, the center of Christian faith.

**Letters in the early church ...**
But the New Testament contains much more material. There is "the acts of
the apostles", a short history of the early church. Acts contains a lot
of material about the work of the apostle Paul, his missionary journeys
into Europe in the first century.
Then, the New Testament collects a range of important letters which have
been written in the years after Jesus death at the cross. In these letters
Paul and other apostles like Peter or John outline basic key parts of
the faith in Jesus. These letters are fresh and fascinating documents of
the early church. But they are more than that ...

**Fascinating documents of faith ...**
The letters of the apostles are documents of faith. They can be even called
guidelines or sources of faith, since they describe the faith in Jesus. They
outline the key parts of faith. They talk about life, about how to live when
you are willing to believe Jesus.
The letters are much more than ethical guidelines. They are documents which
reflect the faith. They are philosophical letters, contain important arguments
and reasoning about what faith means. They talk about salvation, their
key interest is the interpretation and understanding of what happens in Jesus.
The letters are in invitation to join the community of faith. They invite
us to live the way which Jesus started. They are letters of new life,
invitations to let our heart change and evolve "in Christ". We would like to
invite you to read these letters jointly with us. Ask your questions. Find
your own access, your personal way to read and to follow Jesus.
