We have been on a very nice Christmas party yesterday evening. My wife is working in a Christian clinic, and the staff met with partners. There was first some worship service, then a very nice dinner afterwards. The service was fantastic - in my opinion. There was some theatre team which brought a story telling us that God wants every person, not only those who believe that tey are the A-Team. He does not need our strength, but our faith. Then, the preacher talked about Christmas. He also asked: is it your Christmas? Is it Your advent? {{2010_12_15.jpg }} **Is God in your life? ...** When is Christmas your Christmas? It is yours when God is coming to you. It is yours, when you realize that he is there for you, that he comes into your life, into your world. It is not some abstract process. He is there in person, to meet you in person. He wants a relationship with you, not some stereotype of a human, but a very concrete human: you. We can talk about God's actions. We can study theology and have nice theories. We can even know a lot about who God is and what he wants. But we need to have him come into our life. We need him to be our father, our saviour, our center, our love. We need to have him to be our personal God. That is what he wants, nothing else. {{ 2010_12_15_2.jpg}} **How to start? ...** The pastor in the worship service talked about "my advent". He asked: where are you? He did not talk much about how you get there, how you open your life for the eternal God. But what can you do? Is there something at all to do? God come to us to offer us his love. We can accept it. We can talk to him in prayer and tell him: "Thank you, Lord!" We can say to him: "Lord, come into my life." We can tell him: "I want to live with you!" We can offer him to take control over our life, to help us to be filled with true and deep purpose, to be filled with his love. Jesus has talked a lot about what living with the Lord means. We will read and talk about this step by step when we read and study the bible, when we come together with many different people, studying the word of the Lord.
