======What is filling my days? ...======
Tuesday, Jan 18, 2011. What is filling your days? Many of us work for
some company, some institution or for customers. The work fills our day.
That is for 8 or 9 hours per day if we work full-time.

**What fills our day? ...**
What else is filling our day? And how is our job filling the day. If you
have a family, if you have kids, then that might fill your day. Kids
are back at some point during the afternoon, and then the usual business
starts: there is some sports, some music, some friends ... kids need
someone to bring them there. Families know that days are full for families
quickly. The daily activities fill our days.
If we have a job, our days might be filled with the targets we have in
our jobs. We need to manufacture. We need to sell. We need to network.
When we are fully dedicated to our job, our mind and our activities are
filled with these tasks.
Of course, we also need some sports and some leisure. We might have a hobby,
for example some people play football, and most Saturdays are filled
with competitions here and there. Others play music, they have rehearsals,
they have concerts. Some of us go into films, and spend a significant
time in cinemas. What is filling our weekends?

**God's role in my life ...**
The New Testament wants to bring God into our days. If you start thinking
about this, it can be quite strange. How can God be there, every day. You
cannot touch him. You cannot directly interact with him. You can pray, but
you cannot hear him answer, usually. Only very few people hear a voice,
and if you do you should be quite suspicious (even if God CAN talk to
people, as he talked to the apostle Paul in the New Testament). But God wants
to be there every day.
The biblical idea is that God wants to fill my life. He wants to fill my
days with his grace, with his truth, with his love. He wants to be there
and guide me. He wants my tasks and goals to be sustainable. He wants them
to be in line with his tasks and goals with our earth and our society.
It is quite a challenge to open our mind to God every day. We tend to be
very busy with our job. We tend to be focused on our life, and God is put
somewhere to the side. God does want to be in the middle, but that does
not mean that we all just focus on him all the time. Of course we need to
carry out our job, but having him with us, having his spirit guide and
lead us while we do what ever needs to be done.
