I have been in the plane yesterday, with all the luggage which you carry when you go to work abroad. Usually, for me that is a laptop, several calenders and things to write, and of course some shirts and a toilet bag. {{2011_02_03.jpg }} **Old Ideas, Experiences and Injuries ...** There are different types of luggage which we all carry on our journey into the land of faith. We carry it anyway, if we move towards faith or if we don't. It is important to realize that we carry this luggage, since it can influence our journey considerably. There is, first, the set of ideas about what or who God is. We think that we know something about God. We have some old ideas in our mind, some ideas which we have learned in our youth, or during later times. These ideas do not necessarily need to be correct, it could be that we reject God because we have a completely unrealistic image of God and that the real God is different. But there is also other type of luggage. We all carry many experiences with us. We have been accepted or rejected by other people. We have been hurt. And we have done things to others, which influence our way to think. This is a deep point, something very interesting and full of insight into what humans are and can be. {{ 2011_02_03_2.jpg}} **God carries things for us ...** When we move throught the land of faith, we will be able to discover our own personality better. We will be able to see many things more clearly which are often hidden. We explore our humanity in a new and exciting way! One of the key points of our journey through the land of faith is that we will realize that God wants to carry our luggage. He wants to be our companion, but more than that, he wants to be the guide, the helper, the carrier, the servant. In the bible Jesus says many times that the son of God comes to serve. We will discover this when we move into the land of faith. It is a fantastic and exciting journey, to walk in the land of faith and get to know the eternal God!
