======Faith Journey 7 - First Rest and Homework ...======
Friday, Feb 4, 2011. A journey consists of several parts. Between these
parts, we find some hotel or hostel to rest and relax, to think about
the impressions and to reflect about our experiences. Today, we complete
the first part of the X-Tours seminar and arrive at such a place of rest.

**My load is light ...**
We have already been talking about promises. The bible contains quite
a number of promises, which God does. He wants to help us, wants to encourage
us and our faith. Here, we need to talk about the promise which Matthew
records in his Gospel in Chapter 11, from verse 28:
28 Jesus told the people: Each one of you who is weighed down with hard work and heavy burdens - come to me and I will help you to rest.
29 Learn to be like me, and work with me as if we were two oxen pulling a plough together. I have an unassuming and humble heart, and people who are like me will find rest in their inner being.
30 The load I lay on people is light and easy to carry.
It is one of the completely amazing things, that if people come to Jesus, their
load is taken by him. Life can change considerably, and he is the source of a
change for which we have only one word: peace.

**Homework for You ...**
As a homework or focal point of reflection, we would like to suggest that you
think about your "baggage", about the things which you carry around on the
journey of your life. Think about things which have hurt you and might still
hurt you. Think about the guilt of others, where they need your forgiveness.
And about your own failures, where
you need the foregiveness of other people.
What are the pieces of luggage which you carry? Is there anything, which you
would like to give to God to carry? Is there anything you would like to get
rid of? Think about it, and you might even talk to God about it already,
and ask him to help!
