We are talking about the fascination of Jesus. What is it that fascinates me? Why is he attractive? What pulls me towards him? In our last session we have mentioned truth, truthfullness, authenticity. Today, we talk about communication skills. {{2011_05_04.jpg }} **The communication skills of Jesus ...** The New Testament is full of stories where Jesus talks to people. It is a book about him, about his life, his words, his actions and about the people who live with him. It's all about Jesus! And its all about what he is, does and says! One of the key parts of the gospels is the "sermon on the mount". Jesus speaks about what is important in life. He speaks about blessing, about ethics, about priorities, about God and mankind. His sermon on the mount is one of the greatest speeches ever given! It is full of wisdom, it is vibrant, deep, challenging, ... The sermon on the mount has all the elements of a good speech. At the same time it contains content which could not be deeper. It talks about our life, its past and its present and its future. It talks about eternity, but in a way which is completely near to us. Eternity is now! {{ 2011_05_04_2.jpg}} **I admire Jesus' communication! ...** The sermon on the mount is just one speech of Jesus. There are many other stories where he talks to people in various circumstances - until he talks to the other people on the cross and after the resurrection he talks to his disciples and to various people (up to 500 are mentioned in the New Testament). And every time he talks something special is said. He just does not only have common words, but he manages to inspire, to guide, to encourage, every time he speaks! I really admire the way Jesus communicates. His words have substance. His words go deep. And his words and stories reach people. He is able to talk to the whole world. Even today we read what he said, and we understand and we are changed by what he communicates! Jesus managed to speak world-changing words. He managed to be fully truthful, authentic and oriented towards the purpose of his mission: to reach people and bring them back to God. To give life a purpose, to help everyone to find back to the source of life, get the priorities right and then move on encouraged and with new hope.
