Life wants to be light, not shadow. That has many aspects. We want to live in the light, not in the shadow. We want to be light, not shadow. We want to be on the bright side of life ... {{2011_05_25.jpg }} **What we want - several levels ...** What do we want? We want to live on the bright side of life. News show us the images of the beautiful and the powerful. They show us wealth and success every day, from morning to evening. And it seems to be desirable, it seems to be the bright side of life. It seems to be that what we want. Indeed, life can be simpler when you do not have to worry about your appearance, when you know that you are beautiful. Life can be simpler when you have enough money and do not need to worry about it. Seen from remote, life can be much simpler then. But that is only a superficial level, it is not really true! There is another level of life. One layer deeper! There, we have much deeper desires. We want to be loved. We want to be appreciated, we want to be appreciated not only for what we have, not only for what we do, but for what we are, just we, as we are! On this deeper layer, we have the really important desires, those who start to grow when all the other needs are met. {{ 2011_05_25_2.jpg}} **Where our needs can be met ...** We can try to find the ressources for our needs or desires in things or actions. We can try to find the solution in particular people or groups or a community. But ultimately, the solution to our needs can only be found in God himself. Only he can give us the love and appreciation, which is not dependent on fragile relationships, which is not dependent on what we do or have. His love and presence are eternal, they cannot be distroyed, they do not grow old, they never stop. Living on the bright side of life has many aspects. When we live with God, we might not have much money, but we have him, who helps us with all our needs. We might not be the most beautiful person on the planet, but we discover the miracle he has put into us, the beauty of our body, of our mind, of everything we are. When we get to know him, our sorrows will start to resolve. He is our rock and our foundation. His supply will never cease.
