======Dreams and Walking on the Lake ...======
Thursday, July 21, 2011. "He is a dreamer". There are people who like
to dream. But we often treat people who dream as not very realistic. There
are managers, and there seem to be dreamers.

**Dreaming is great ...**
But dreaming can be very important, if it is carried out in the right way.
When we want to develop new ideas where to go and what to reach, we need to
dream. When we want to have real goals, we need the ability to develop
szenarious which are new. Only when we dream of a new world, of new technologies,
of new relationships, of new social components ... only when we dream we can
move forward. Without dreaming there is no clear picture of where to go!
Even as a natural scientist I often think that dreaming is important. I am not
talking about some fancy dream like a phantasy story. That might also be nice,
but it is not relevant for my science. But to do the next step I need to dream
a scientific result. It is a creative process, a creative act. Dreaming means
to create a szene, which is not there. Dreaming superseeds our presence and
our location.
Dreaming needs to be linked to what is there. It needs to be connected to our
world. The goals we dream and create need to be reachable. But does that limit
our dreams? It does often, but not necessarily. Why not dream of a situation
as I would like it to be, and then see what of this dream might become reality?
We go beyond reality with our dream, but we then look into ways to let it
become truth.

**Walking on the Lake ...**
I read the story of Jesus walking on the lake this morning. Personally, I think
that he really walked on the lake. There might be Christians who see this as a mere
parable. It is also a parable, but I think it is more, it happened.
But my key point is: how would you manage to walk on the lake? First, you need
to have the idea to do this at all. You need to have a crazy idea, a dream.
You need to dream to walk on the water, to walk through all difficulties, to
walk calmly through the storm. That is beyond reality. Usually, we tend to sit
in our room and wait during the storms. But you might dream of other szenes, of
yourself walking on the lake.
Jesus must have dreamed of this szene, before he did it. But then he also put
things into action. He knew the power of God. As a human, he could not walk on
the lake. But as a believer, things are possible when God gives them. He knew
the power of prayer and the power of faith. And with all of this, he realized
the dream. Trusting his command even Peter could walk on the lake. This shows
that dreams can become reality. Everything is possible!
