I am a scientist and a key element of science is curiosity. Look, what I have found! Real scientists are a little bit like kids, who want to know and want to tell others what they have found. {{2011_07_29.jpg }} **Curiosity on all layers of life ...** Curiosity is a very important feature of human character. If you look at kids, they are all very curious. If there is anything mysterious, anything one would like to know, they want to know. Curiosity has led to most of the discoveries which we have found in the course of human history! Living in the scientific community, I know that curiosity is not the only element in us. All who want to survive in science, also need to get outputs published and need to get recognition. So there are these other elements which penetrate our motivation and guide our actions and questions. But curiosity is there, usually, as the original moment which made us start to search ... But curiosity is an important element not only in science, but on all others layers of life as well. We want to to explore another culture, other worlds. We want to learn another language. We are interested in another person. How is it to establish a family, to have kids, to build a house. Can we do this or that? Can we succeed? Curiosity can be mixed with the desire for adventure. {{ 2011_07_29_2.jpg}} **Explore who God is ...** We also need curiosity when we want to get to know God. The bible claims that he wants us to search him, then he will show himself and we will find him. He wants us to be curious, and to start to look for him! When you find something interesting in science, a natural impulse is to show it to others. Usually, in science this is carried out by publications in special journals. When you find God, you cannot just publish that in a journal, and usually there are many personal elements involved as well. Also, the basic facts are long published - we all have the biblical books avaliable, which record the main facts. But this element of telling others remains, it is human, and we want to tell: wow, what a God! It is good if now and then we sit back for a moment and review our own curiosity. Are we still driven by it? Or is it more or less dead? We can revive it, just by relaxing a little and starting to ask questions. We should do that, on all layers of life.
