I am currently staying in a College in Cambridge, carrying out some research work. Every morning we have different people around us at the breakfast table. This morning, I was drawn into a long discussion about how to help making the world a better place. {{2011_08_03.jpg }} **Discussion for Breakfast ...** What can you do to make the world a better place? We talked about the international situation, about many African states, about the world around the middle east. I asked the question: what can be your personal contribution to making things better? Yesterday afternoon I had a similar discussion with someone from Greece about Greece and the international monetarian system - with similar questions. I have been trying to understand the situation now for quite a while. As a scientist it is natural to have many contacts around the world, to know other scientist in Japan, in the US, in France, Germany, but also Pakistan, Algeria, Tunesia and in many other states around the globe. Science by nature is international and you get in contact with people from various cultures. But you also get to know how difficult it is to change things. You get to know the various ways to approach a task, to carry it out, to live and to structure your way. When you want to make progress to improve the life of people, actions on all levels are needed: economic, social, political, scientific, personal! {{ 2011_08_03_2.jpg}} **God's Guidance to Help ...** I am searching God's guidance how to help efficiently and create sustainable structures and sustainable improvements. For me personally, God has shown me a lot about the different levels of the problem. I more and more realize that it is not enough to give some money here or there. It is not enough to give money to some charity. Much more is needed, and the Lord wants us to move forward on all levels which we can reach! How can we help people to develop their own sustainable way to live. That includes an economy which feeds the people. It includes chances and hope for all the individuals living in a state. It includes a purpose for the life of everyone, it includes a medical system which can be afforded. Without education, training, schools, universities and a working infrastructure, you cannot reach this state! So our faith has to become extremely practical. It is not just prayer and money, we need to give. We need to start an interaction with the structures, political as well as economical and social.
