======Priorities: our Work Life ...======
Monday, August 22, 2011. What is the main priority for my life? Most of us
spend one third of their hours in their business - in an office or carrying
out services for our employer. We sleep another third. And then there is
time needed to commute, to eat, to carry out little things in our household ...

**The Role of our Work? ...**
When we spend most of our time working in our job, that seems to indicate
that it is quite important for us. What is the role of our work for or life?
Clearly, humans are given the ability to carry out work. We are productive
and creative beings. Our days have 12 to 16 hours of time which is available
for doing things ... so it seems natural that we use it to do what we would
like to do and to do what is needed for our life!
If you look into what work life is able to generate, we soon realize that
all our societies generate a lot more than what is needed to live. Of course,
we need food and we need clothing, we need a place to live. But that is it,
if we would just work for what is needed, then we all would be well off. But
we would like to have good food, we would like to have nice clothing and we
want a place to live which is spaceous, beautiful and in a good neighborhood.

**God asks us to think about our time ...**
When I read the bible I realize again and again that God wants me and every
human on the planet to think about the priorities we set day by day. He wants
us to think about what is imporant in life and where we put our time in. He
wants us to realize that life is fantastic and that we should spend our time
wisely ...
God wants us to be with him all the time. He wants us to live in his presence
and let him influence our decisions. We need to talk in more detail, what that
can mean. It does not mean to work and work without ever looking up to him.
Christians of former centuries shaped the principles of "ora et labora" (pray and
work), setting the prayer to the first place, and work right there into the
second.
How do you want to shape your life? How do you want to spend your time? Is
your work fascinating? What goals do you have with your days? That will be
the topic of this week ...
