Conflicts between different people arise every day. Probably you are part of some conflict in your professional environment right now. Conflicts are there and often cannot be avoided ... {{2011_09_12.jpg }} **Continuing conflicts ...** Assume that there are two or more "alpha animals", i.e. humans with strong leadership skills, in your business environment, in your section or unit. Then conflicts will arise. It is a standard pattern in the world of an alpha animal that he or she senses who else has leadership skills. Alpha animals are those humans who can lead and will lead, where ever you put them. The are built to help a group to reach its goals, and with their particular way of leadership usually get into conflicts with other alpha animals, who have a different way to approach it. But there are not only the leaders who get into conflicts. There are also the administrators who can develop all kinds of dispute. There are those who plan long-term. They put order into their their world by inventing and imposing their kind of scheme to everyone they manage. There are others who operate on a flexible short-term basis. That does not go together ... and a conflict is born. Light solutions versus the big solutions based on heavy principles ... and we are in the middle of a big argument. There are more and deep differences of character ... the way we deal with and express emotions. The basic goals we have for our life. Are we goal oriented or are relationships in the center of our universe ...? {{ 2011_09_12_2.jpg}} **God's Character ...** Have you every thought about God's character? Does God have a character? Some people tend to believe that God is more the abstract something far behind our horizon. And surely he is so large and wide that we will have difficulties to grasp the full extent of his personality. But in the bible God also comes quite near to us as humans. He even comes to us as a human, in Christ Jesus. Here, we have God looking towards us with real character and personality. We can meet God and observe how he acts, how he talks and how he treats others and ourselves. Yes, God has character and personality ... One key feature of God's character is that he is humble. That is remarkable, is he not the most powerful being which exists, even embracing the universe? But it seems that this power is a perfect background for true humility. He does not need to show off, he is the Lord anyway. And in his power he can search for true relationships, based on truth, justice, love and dedication.
