======Find a Calm Spot ...======
Friday, November 18, 2011. Sometimes we want change, we seem stuck and we
are not happy about our situation. But also, sometimes we want peace. Sometimes
we long to find a calm spot and get out of the speed of changes and
activities. Where can we find rest? How to find peace?

**How can I find Peace? ...**
There is external peace, to live in a country where I can work and talk and
live without conflicts or physical force. There is peace in the sense of
freedom to believe, to talk, to develop ones political ideas. And then there
is peace of mind and peace of the heart, such that in the middle of a
modern and changing world I know where I belong. I know where I am at home,
and my life is filled with purpose.
Is creativity something which is in contrast to peace? Or is
peace a basis on which creativity can grow? Usually freedom is important for
creativity. If you are fighting for the basics of life day by day, how can
you be creative? On the other hand: if there are no challenges and everything
seems to be set in stone, then this does not encourage creativity either.
You need the right mixture of a peaceful environment and challenges to
fully nurture creativity!
But how do we reach peace? In many countries today peace is a reality. We do
not have war, but we live in democratic societies, where the people have
a good deal of chances and possibilities - even if there are still sincere
problems. But the peace of mind and peace of heart is not so evident. How
do we reach a state where we are full of this type of peace?

**HIS Peace ...**
In the New Testament, God is offering us HIS peace. He is offering us a state
of life, where we are filled with compassion, with creativity, with love and
justice, but also with a peace which is beyond the worldly peace we know. He
is offering us to fill us with a peace which supersedes reason.
What is the peace of God? Can we describe it? If it supersedes reason, can we
grasp it? Can we talk about it? We can! It is a peace which gives you a full
sense of appreciation. The Lord loves you, more than we can ever understand.
And on the basis of his love and attention, my life is changed completely.
The peace of God comes from his love and his power, his eternal presence. Since
he is eternal and almighty, there can be no fear in this peace. At the same
time, creativity is an important part of his peace. He was creating and is
creating - and we are a part of his creation as well as his creativity, based
on the pace which only he can give!
