Reading the bible is fascinating. But do you want to do it alone? Can it be carried out passively? No, we need to do it together with other people and we need to bring into practice what we read ... otherwise we do not get access to the texts! {{2012_01_19.jpg }} **Internet Developments, Social Networking and Web 2.0 ...** Lets talk about another topic for a moment. The internet which has developed since 1986 (email) or 1993 (world wide web and hypertext) has led to a boost in interactive applications. Today, You tube! Today everyone posts his or her images, opinions, films and material. We have more information available than we ever had in human history, and it is available quicker than ever before! I use the internet from morning to evening. I use it for work. I use it to stay in touch with people. I use it to look up various things, from wikipedia and many further sources. Even my navigation system uses the internet today, when I want to see where the traffic is slow, I use the internet ... But not all information on the net is high quality. There is a lot of medium type quality information. When everyone posts his opinion, not everything can be than mature - I would not expect that from my own opinion. Things are developing ... It is important to take into account the mixed quality of postings when you search some infos. {{ 2012_01_19_2.jpg}} **Active use of the bible ...** We are developing an interactive platform to support the active use of the bible. There are, of course, such platforms available. But we want to manage contributions in a way such that they are available close to the particular passages of the bible. That needs a translation which is available to us completely, the Jesus Network Bible. We are working on it. Also, we are looking into a way to keep quality high, in the sense that there is a sincere discussion with content. If you are interested in such a project, we are open for your participation. We are looking for patient and long-term commitment. And the team should not be anonymous. The project has been initiated by two charities, one in the UK and another one in Germany, both called "Jesus Network". How do you live faith? How do you read and use the bible? That would be one of the topics of discussion. There are many more, about the bible itself, and about various parts of it. What does it mean? What can you expect? What experiences did you have? It will be an interesting time when we get more and more contributions in over the next month and years!
