Recently I thought a lot about Pippi Longstocking. Do you know this little girl in the book of Astrid Lindgren, the Swedish writer? Pippi is a very strong little girl, who lives with an ape and a horse in her little house ... and is not depending on anyone, but together with her friends goes on various adventures ... {{2012_02_01.jpg }} **Making the world as I want it to be ...** There is this well-known song about Pippi: She is making the world as she wants it to be. She is not caring about any conventions. Mathematics is too difficult for her, but she does not care. A sense of freedom is carried in the song - and in the whole story about the little girl which does not need to be afraid! Pippi is living an old dream which humans had and have ever since. It is the dream of freedom and security, of unlimited possibilities, of a life which is both enjoyable and fun, full of action and full of curiosity. It is a life full of friendship and full of change - a change driven by ourselves! Go beyond the limits, but not in a hectic way full of pain, but in a light way, full of joy and fun ... If we are honest, we realize that we would like to have something of Pippi. We want to be joyful. We want to reach things, we want to live in a world where we have possibilities do develop ourselves, to develop our environment. We want friendship and time for leisure and fun! We want adventures ... without fear. {{ 2012_02_01_2.jpg}} **Nothing is impossible for God ...** When I try to put the above desires into a larger framework, the biblical words of God's possibilities come to my mind immediately. The New Testament has a lot of Pippi Langstrumpf, but in a slightly different way. It is about ordinary people, who get into contact to God. It is about joy, peace and freedom ... What comes to your mind when you hear "unlimited possibilities"? I am reminded of some ads of IT companies, who want to reigh the world, or some car companies, who try to link our desires to their horse power. And of course, business is looking for possibilities! But there are many further and much more important layers of possibilities. There is this layer of friendship and trust. There is the layer of truth. There is the layer of help, in a personal environment, the layer of support, of fair treatment, of a stable living environment ... Nothing is impossible for God! That starts with his possibilities to be here with me, to teach me his wisdom in my particular situation. He can help me to resolve the points in my life where I have failed and where I am failing without any knowledge of how to change it. He can! And he will.
