======A calm spot within a busy day ...======
Thursday, June 21, 2012. Big towns can be busy spots. I have
been in the London area in the past days, using train stations
and public transport. It is a busy environment, with many
people flooding the streets and places - and with me in the middle
of all this.

**Peace is there in the middle of where you are ...**
When you travel, go from one meeting to the next, carry out work
in between some meetings, on the train or in the airport ... you might
want to find some quiet spot, some time to come to yourself.
Over the past days I experienced that it is possible to find that calm
spot - but not necessarily in terms of a real place where you are alone,
but a place in your heart where your mind and heart rests. And when
you have this place, many things are possible.
Yesterday, sitting in the airport, I tried to concentrate on writing some
text while waiting for the plane. Behind me there were some kids talking,
partly speaking loudly, such that they kept me from making progress for a while.
Unfortunately, I could not move away, the plug hub was just there.
At some point I turned around and just explained to them that I would be
trying to write and concentrate ... and the nice thing was: they said that
they would understand, and immediately changed their behaviour. I had a very
productive working phase after that!

**Prayer times in the middle of the crowd ...**
Sitting in a full train towards the city. Many people reading books or
newspapers on their electronic devices. You can pray in the middle of the
crowd, and the feeling can be similar to being somewhere alone in the wilderness.
Have you ever tried?
The apostles in the New Testament tell us that we should always pray and bring
all things to the Lord in prayer. Does that make sense? Does it work?
When you manage to do it, to sit in some busy environment, but pray and bring
all things to the Lord, then you realize how good and realistic the advice from
the New Testament can be. God is there, waiting for you and for me to come to
him. And with him, our perception and planning is changed. He is giving us peace,
but also ideas, patience, courage and endurance!
