======Healing of Body and Soul ...======


Mondag, Aug 13, 2012. I met a woman recently in a coffee place and we got
into a conversation about life and job ... and she told me she had quit
her job to find herself and get into a quite mode of life, where she could
focus on God and learn to love other people. She had been a successful 
engineer ... but found her life to be empty and without real satisfaction.

**Health ...**

What is a healthy life? Is it one without ill-ness? We all long for a life where
we are healthy, where we can develop our natural abilities and where our 
life and our environment prospers and flourishes. 
 
Is our health only the health of the body? Of course it is not. Also our soul and
mind need to be healthy. A healthy mind lives in a healthy body - said the old
Greek. Today, mental ill-nesses are widely spread and continue to grow. They show
that our modern societies lead to health problems, which are deeply rooted in our
life style. But it is not that easy to put our hands on the problem. How healthy
is our environment, how healthy are we ourselves with our body and mind?
 
When we think further about a healthy life style, then we get into a wider range
of topics. Work, leisure, feedback systems, business, distribution of ressources,
law, justice, education etc etc. It all is linked to the health of our soul and
our mind. What is it that holds our life? What is it that motivates us? Health is
a universial topic, indeed.

**God wants to heal us completely ...**

The New Testament talks a lot about healing. Healing stories are signs which 
show who Jesus is. He is concerned about healing - healing of the body and the 
mind. 
 
God wants to heal us completely. That is the main message that we will come to when
we look deeper into the healing stories which the bible provides. He wants to heal 
our mind, our body and our whole life. His healing is about our whole existence,
about our body, but also about our goals, our habits, our will, our feelings. 
His healing is not something, which is done instantly. It can start right away, 
with a wonder. But in any case - like an operation which needs quite some time 
to recover - it will take time. His healing might even take our whole life-time
to complete. 
 
Healing is an exciting and important topic. When I am physically ill, it IS important
to me on, it is urgent then. But when I seem to be healthy, it can be as important
and urgent, since my mind and my soul suffer - and often the reasons are not
directly accessible for me. God wants to talk to me about healing on all levels of
my life - that is good and wonderful. Let us listen to him ...
