======Pray for your boss ...======
Monday, January 7, 2013. Usually, in our job we are in the middle of some
kind of hirarchy. Almost everyone has a boss or someone who he is responsible
to. Then, there are colleages, somewhere on the same level. And there are
others who are dependent on you.

**Relationships in Hierarchies ...**
What are the relationship we have towards the different people we are linked with?
What is our relationship towards those who we are responsible for? What is our
relationship to our colleagues? And what is our relationship to our line managers
or superiors?
All these relationships are not always easy. There are different people, different
styles, different characters and different experiences. When you have a completely
different background than your boss, that might be challenging!
Also, there are people who like to exercise power. Some do it because they love
to feel superior. Some love to feel power. Others just do not know how to develop
a mature style. Sometimes, bad behavior or allegations from your boss might just be
his weakness, which he tries not to show. Not everyone has the strength to
show weakness!

**Jesus talks about these relationships! ...**
**
Let us have a look into 1 Timothy. Here, God talks through the apostle Paul:
1 First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, 2 for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. 3 This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. (1 Timothy 2: 1-4)
God wants us to pray for the people around us. Here, Paul talks about kings and those
who are in authority. But everywhere, where we are responsible for others, we are
in authority. And we should pray: as employees for our boss. As leaders for our
leaders and for the people which we are responsible for.
It is a brilliant idea to take some time every day and pray for all the people around
us. There will be dozen of people, you discover step by step. Everyone of us is in
contact to at least 300 to 500 people, in school, in business, in training, in
our neighbourhood, in sports. It is great fun to pray for them, and God listens
to our prayer. He helps. He comes. He works.
