There are times when we desperately need the Lord. For different people, that can be in quite different situations. But it is very likely that we face situations in our life, which are quite challenging and also carry the danger to be drawn into very negative and destructive attitudes and actions ... {{2013_05_10.jpg }} **Dangerous situations ...** What are the dangerous situations which you are facing occasionally? There might, for example, be waves of frustration and despair. We are all part of larger organizations and larger processes - and these can lead us into frustration and even despair, when we do not see how progress can be reached. Last week, I talked to some colleague, who has a lot of difficulties with her job situation. She is in an environment, where many people are missing due to illness and non-filled positions, and where her experience and competences do not allow her to make the decisions which would be needed. On top of this, the environment does not take her very serious and her reactions to this ignoring parts of the heavy workload do not really help with getting through the challenges. But what the the options to go? Challenges are on many levels. Our kids face challenges in school, with many class tests week by week. The educational environment is not necessarly shaped by attitudes of constructive support, but by requirements and tests. It can quickly happen that the fascination of knowledge and know-how is burried forever by the stupid mechanism which are in control in our schools and universities! {{ 2013_05_10_2.jpg}} **Turn the wheel around! ...** ** Where are the tools to turn the wheel around? Where are the steps and measures which we need to overcome a frustrating situation? How can we reach constructive rules, how do we generate an encouraging environment? A first and crucial step is that we need to get into contact with a better influence. We need to see how things can be done in a better way. If we are faced by ignorant and blocking attitudes day by day, it is clear that we will have difficulties to overcome them without also getting into contact to someone who is constructive! You might now be looking for someone, perhaps in your personal environment, talking to friends and family. But I think the only one powerful enough to help in the end will be the Lord himself, the eternal God and saviour. He is a loving and wise father. He is active and willing to help. He is there, longing for you and me to ask him for help. God is constructive. He knows how to overcome problems. He has been in situations where no way to go was visible - he has even faced death. He can turn the wheel around. He can help us to become constructive. He knows steps to go. He can help us with his spirit, when we pray to him, when we ask him to come and hold us. Challenges can and will come. But the Lord will also come to be there and support us and help us. Just ask him to ...
