======Motivation through beauty ...======
Thursday, June 6, 2013. Beauty of things can be a key part of our motivation.
We want to do things which are attractive. And we need motivation. We need
something which pulls us. We need to find something attractive in the tasks
we try to carry out, in the steps we do day by day ...

**Motivation ...**
For me, the beauty of things is motivating. It always has been! When I learned
to play an instrument when I was young, it was very nice to play the melodies,
to play the chords, to play with others and put a complex piece of music
together from the individual instruments and tunes ...
When I studied I had a phrase which I often repeated: mathematics is more
beautiful than Brahms. That time, the symphonies of Brahms were the most beautiful
thing I new - and I have been travelling around with an orchestra and we played
these symphonies in concerts in Germany and some other parts of Europe.
But I discovered, that the structures and geometry, the abstract relationships
and operators, the processes and dynamical systems of mathematics have a deep
beauty which was attractive to me, even strongly attractive. I had a lot of fun
working out proofs and learning about numerical methods to practically implement
the tools which I was deriving on a theoretical basis.

**Beauty everywhere ...**
**
God has made things beautiful. This is what made the old believers praise him
in the Psalms and in the New Testament books. He has made creation beautiful,
such that we can injoy it. He wants to give us motivation and fun doing things.
I have a deep faith that my work is beautiful, and it should be. When I talk to
people who have problems with motivation, one key point is usually that they
cannot see the beauty in what they are doing. They have difficulties to make
their actions beautiful, and then love them and work on them with dedication.
God is beautiful, and beauty is one of his prominent features. He has a deep
sense for beauty of music, beauty of forms and shapes and geometry, the beauty
of colors, the beauty of processes, the beauty of animals, plants, humans ...
and the beauty of the mind. God is beautiful - what can be more motivating
to search him and live with him?
