======What happens with distance ...======
Monday, July 15, 2013. We just had a week of holiday somewhere at the coast. We
stayed in a summer cottage, with the whole family, spent time at the beach,
but also doing some sports, visiting some museums, walking a little along
the coast or in a nearby forest. It is good to get some distance to the busy
time which usually fills our days.

**Distance helps ...**
Distance helps to rethink what you are doing normally. Distance helps to get
out of emotional involvement. When you are under some pressure, it is good to
get into some distance to think properly about your work, about the different
parties which are involved and about the way forward to resolve and work out
what needs to be done.
Distance can be great to think about life, to think about yourself, your
relationships and about what you are up to. It helps to think about God and about
your faith.
In my life, I had times where I spent regular time with the Lord in prayer. I had
time to pray for others, around half an hour per day. And I had time to listen
to the Lord and to talk to him. But that was a time when I had much more control
over my time than I have today, where almost every minute of a day is filled
by group members, projects and administrative meetings, family and further duties.
So today I am trying tor find back to this at least to some extent ...

**Prayer Time is Changing our Day ...**
**
When I think about how to gain more prayer time, I realize that I need to take
the time. When I first started regular prayer times, that was similar. I needed to
make a decision, to spend 5 minutes with the Lord. I took these decisions day
by day. And there was a miracle happening: I realized that God gave me much more
back than the 5 minutes. He started to interfer with my daily duties and I became
much more efficient.
It is important to be able to control your own time. Of course, the working time
belongs to the employer. But it should be up to you to make it most efficient. Prayer
times can be a part of this. Focussing on the important parts of life - on the Lord -
can be a key step towards much better time management. He knows, what is important
to do next. He knows whom you should not forget. And he has all the possibilities
to help you in whatever you try to achieve.
But God is not just a nice helper. He is, of course, much more. He is the eternal
Lord, who knows our life, and our goals, our desires, our needs. And he loves us
deeply. He wants to be with you in our profession, wants to help us to do it well
and to carry out our duties in his spirit, in the spirit of truth, love and
endurance. In the spirit of gentleness and power. It is the spirit of eternal wisdom
and victory as well. The Lord is great, let him be our guide in all we do!
