======Search Biblical Guidance ...======
Wednesday, July 17, 2013. Holiday can be a time to search for a better
understanding of our life, of or goals and dreams. But where do we get
guidance and support for such a task?

**He knows our life ...**
As someone with strong political interests, I am looking into news articles
quite a lot - they are easily accessible over the internet today. But does that
still the hunger for deeper insight, for truth which lasts, for a knowledge
of humanity which frees your view and leads us to the important things in life?
The biblical texts are of a different nature. They can give you much more
than any worldly news article or even any of the "how-to" contributions, which you
find today in so many places. We need to look for the right wisdom, for the right
input and guidance.
The living God knows our life. He knows us just too well. He knows all we need,
all we want, all our desires and hopes. And he wants to give us guidance and
support. He wants to give us help. We are invited to search him and his guidance,
day by day.

**Proverbs ...**
**
The proverbs of Solomon son of David, king of Israel: 2 for gaining wisdom and instruction; for understanding words of insight; 3 for receiving instruction in prudent behavior, doing what is right and just and fair; 4 for giving prudence to those who are simple,1 knowledge and discretion to the young— 5 **let the wise listen and add to their learning, and let the discerning get guidance**— 6 for understanding proverbs and parables, the sayings and riddles of the wise.2 7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools3 despise wisdom and instruction.
(Proverbs 1, 1-5)
How can you carry out the search for his guidance. One possibility is to just open
the bible and read a little bit - for example in the New Testament. Then ask yourself:
is what you read a word into your life? Is God talking to you by these words right
now? When he warns, for example, that worldly riches will not help you to lead a
life full of purpose. Is that something he tells YOU right now?
God is speaking to us personally, through many channels. One key channel is his
biblical word, as recorded by so many people of deep faith. You can search his guidance
by just reading and listening and doing. Carry out what ever you started to understand!
Then, your understanding will grow and you enter a good way, the way of his
kingdom!
