======The Wow effect ...======
Friday, Jan 17, 2014. Sometimes when you read a book, you get the Wow effect. I mean
this feeling: wow, that is really great. That is great stuff!

**What is good? ...**
The Wow effect can happen with films, with books, with music. They can be convincing.
They can be emotional. They can be great for us.
Sometimes, my family likes some film very much, but I do not like it. Or I like
a film, and my family does not like it. We are different, men and women, older and
younger people, more or less aggressive, more or less emotional ... so different types
of books, films or music will find its way into our mind, our emotions and our
heart!
Also, we ourselves change or we can have different times, when we love different
types of songs or books. Sometimes, I love some worship song very much - and at other
times, I do not want to listen to it. I am different from day to day, sometimes
from hour to hour.

**Fantastic bible ...**
>
I had the Wow effect with several parts of the bible over the past days. I took some
time to read the letters of Peter yesterday, and that was just great! Peter is
talking about discipleship. How do we live our faith. It is a topic which is very
important to me currently, and we had discussions about it in our church. The
letters of Peter talk about discipleship, about knowledge and about godliness,
about recognition and about temperance.
But I had the Wow effect as well when I read the book of Daniel last weekend.
I went through the world history of the time between 500 before Christ to Christ
birth ... and compared it to the events in the book of Daniel, which has strong
prophetic elements as well as strong historical elements. People have very
different opinions about this book, but I love it!
The Wow effect is more than emotion! The Wow effect means that some book or word
reaches your heart. And it will change the things you do. It will change the way
you approach your challenges, your tasks, your day. In this sense it is important
to come to the Wow effect. For me, it always happens when I take time to look
into biblical books ... nearly every single time I feel surprised and overwhelmed
by its realism, insight and wisdom.
