Sometimes it is very important to take a break. We need a time-out. We need to stop what we are doing day by day by day. We need to turn around, need to do something else. We need to relax and get into another mode, another state, another layer of life. {{2014_12_29.jpg }} **Time between the years ...** The time between the years is a fantastic opportunity to take a break. Many of us have holiday, and even for those who still need to work things are different between Christmas and New Year. There is time to take a breath, usually. There is time to think about the last year, to think about what was good and successful, but also to remember where we failed and where we could have done better. As humans we need these times of a break. Many of us fill the break with holiday activities, with films, with games, with sports. Skiing is a very popular activity here around. The alps are not far, and many medium mountains. Over the past days we had plenty of snow - and kids love it to go outside for hours. It is good to take a break and just forget everything. It is good to just be. Sometimes I love those times, where I do not have to be working towards some particular agenda, where I do not need to be efficient and quick and good. It is good just to be. {{ 2014_12_29_2.jpg}} **Listen to the Lord ...** > And here, were we have stepped outside of our standard routine, it is time to turn to the Lord. It is good to turn to him, to become aware of his presence, to open our ears and our eyes and our heart to his words, to what he is and what he wants to say to us. Are we able to listen to God? Are we open to hear him? Do we have ears which can hear? Do we have eyes which can see? Is our heart open to receive him? It is good to turn to the Lord, and to ask him: Lord, what do you think about my life, about my ways, about my goals, my desires, my difficulties? Lord, what is your plan, your advice? Lord, what do you have to say? What is it that YOU want? What is your idea about life - and about my life, my own, my personal life?
