======Word of Life ...======
Tudsday, Jan 13, 2015. Christian faith is about life. It is about the source
of life, of eternal life. It is about Jesus. In him we see the word of life, which
lived among us. What can we say about him today?

**Come and See! ...**
The apostles talk about Jesus. The four gospels present the story of his life - and
the story of the people around him. From his birth to his death at the cross and to
the resurrection and the holy spirit they present the whole story. It is a story
of eternity coming into the finite. It is a story of something special happening -
2000 years ago until today. The apostle John writes in his letter:
1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we looked upon and have touched with our hands, concerning the word of life —
2 the life was made manifest, and we have seen it, and testify to it and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was made manifest to us—
3 that which we have seen and heard we proclaim also to you, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the

and with his Son Jesus Christ.
4 And we are writing these things so that our joy may be complete.
(1 John 1, 1-6)
We are invited to this fellowship, the fellowship of life, the fellowship of Jesus
and his apostles. It is made clear by John, by Paul, by Pete and all the other
apostles, that this invitation is for everyone. Who ever believes in him, will be
part of the story, will be part of his kingdom.
Fellowship ...
We are invited to this fellowship. The New Testament describes it with its
many facettes. We are invited to join life. The fruits of the spirit are described
in Galatians 5, 22-23: "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law."
Christian faith does not mean, that automatically all problems are gone from our
life. It does not mean that we are treated with fairness only. It does not mean that
we are always healthy and well. God can bless us with healing and help, yes. But
even if this does not come immediately, all the fruits of the spirit are ours!
We are called to open our heart and our mind to the Lord!
Perhaps in our special situation today, it is an important step to give love more
weight than hate, to give my knowledge of the truth more weight than the lies which
we experience in so many places day by day. It is an important step to give joy
a place in our heart, and kindness, and goodness, and faithfulness.
I believe that his spirit will gain victory. It is a victory, in the first place,
about myself, about my own heart. It is a victory about my own bitterness, my own
disappointment, my own frustrations. When love takes over, all these things will
faint out, but joy will come, and his life, his eternal life, becomes the strong
centre of my life.
