======Ask the deep and important Questions ...======
Thursday, March 26, 2015. When we live our day by day life, we might be tempted to
leave away the deeper and important questions, just because
we are busy with doing our things, with running our job and
our families and our daily things.

**Science as Template ...**
I am at a workshop currently, where neuroscientists and people
from geophysics meet mathematicians to discuss the use of
measurement data within model simulations. The area is called
"data assimilation" and "inverse problems". It is always again
very interesting
to have scientists with different background and working style
together in one meeting.
Here, we have applied scientists which provide products for
a large number of customers together with people who think on a
very basic level and try to develop a deeper understanding
of the structures which are inherent in methods. Mathematics
reduces the phenomena to their main features, it starts with
simple systems, develops a complete theory and then moves
towards more complex situations.
We can use the scientific situation as an image or template
for our faith life. Of course, we need the application. Faith
is about living faith in our ordinary environment. But we
might also be so absorbed into the details of making it happen,
that we loose the ability to step back a little and look
into the basic things.

**Basic Questions of Life ...**
It is important to discover the basic things in our life.
It does not need to be difficult - as mathematics tries to
reduce the complexity of a real system to discover the main
features, we can turn to God to discover some of the main
features of our own life.
God draws our attention to trust, in the first place. He wants
our life to be built on trust. That is mainly trust into him,
since he is the trustworthy one, the loving one, the true one.
Where humans fail, he does not fail us.
And God draws our attention to value. He has given us an
eternal value. He wants us. He wants to be with us, to live
with us. He wants us to be with him. Humans often try to find
value in many different worldly things. But God gives value
to each and everyone of us - before we even start to act or
to be or to have. That is a very important and basic insight!
The invitation to faith is the invitation to ask the deep and
important questions of our life!
