======Does God exist? ...======
Wednesday, April 8, 2015. Does God exist? What are your arguments for his
existence or against it? Ahhh ... a heavy question in the early morning. But I
stumbled over this question last night, when listening to some free thought
festival on YouTube. There were quite eloquent people around arguing against
the existence of God. What is it that convinces you that he is there? What
are your main questions?

**Important Question ...**
The question of God is an important and basic question. Of course we know that
since humans exist they have been dealing with the question. Also we know that
there have been enough people in history and there are many people today who
think that there is no God. And even if people somehow think, there might be
a God, that does not mean that they know him or could say more about him.
We could start to investigate all the arguments which have been made to support
the existence of God. There are arguments on very different layers. But let us
postpone this and just come with two important basic thoughts today.
The first thought is: God is a hidden God. If God wanted it differently, he would
act differently. But we live in a world which is governed by rules. We are free
to make decisions - also the decision to live without God. And it is possible.
We have our life, our 50 or 80 or 100 years, in a world where God is not
completely obvious.

**God everywhere ...**
On the other hand, God has interacted with his creation a whole lot. And he is there,
day by day, in his miraculous hidden way, but in an obvious way at the same time. We
find him in and through nature, but more than that in the biblical books, in the
prophetic words, in the words of his children, people of faith. In Romans, the
apostle Paul argues:
19 For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them.
20 For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.
(Romans 1, 19-20)
How do you recognize God, when you meet him? That is the main question. How do you
realize that some words are God's words, when you hear them? When someone talks,
do you recognize the words which are more than human words, which are words where
God talks to you? What is your measurement rod to find out, to see? Let us continue
to discuss these questions, there is a lot to say and a lot to find!
