======Does God exist IV - Interrupted ...======
Monday, April 13, 2015. Sometimes we go through our days and forget the
important things. We are so busy with all what we need to do here or there,
and it is very easy to get distracted - by media, by films, by mobile phones
or computer games ... and by many other things. Even good things such as
music can absorb us completely, and lead us into the wrong mode of life ...

**God is knocking at our door ...**
You might ask yourself: if God is there, why is he not making himself heart?
Why is he not interrupting us with our stupid things, and guiding us to the
more important things?
But that is exactly what happens. We are given a life of some years, it may be
40 or 60 or 80 or even 100. But it is not without interruptions. It is not just
perfect, with us fading out at the end. It is full of struggle. Sometimes it
is full of illness and difficulty. Our life is fantastic on the one hand, but
it is one big question on the other: is that all? Is that the end? Why is this
happening and where do I go?
I do not think that illness is just a communication tool of God. It is much more,
and has many connections to our whole creation. It reflects what creation is right
now. But God uses it to talk to us as well. He is knocking at our door - with many
small and larger things which happen to us and to others. Reality is speaking
to us. It is not just random (though it has random components as it appears to
us). Jesus told us that not even one single bird can fall from the sky without
God being in control.

**God is there searching for our heart ...**
The bible tells us that God wants to reach us. He wants to reach our heart. But
he wants us to come to him by our own will, by our own decisions. He wants us
to be free and to choose him. When we want to leave him, we can do it. The
consequences are clear, we are given our life, and it has an end.
God interrupts our activities, when he sees us going into the wrong direction.
Sometimes he is starting with little interruptions, with hints. And he can give
us very heavy stop signs. I have seen so many heavy burdens people had to carry
which were clear stop signs which God put into either their way or the way of
other people around. (Understand me right, not every burden is such a sign, but
some might be!) On the other hand it is not him, doing many bad things, but
it is him letting us go into the direction we have chosen to take. The story of
the lost son tells us, how he sees these things.
Does God exist? It can be quite difficult to identify him from the events which
we experience in our life. Yet, he has promised to be there with us. This promise
can help us to interpret what we experience. To distinguish and give events
an interpretation, the words which Jesus told us can be a key guide and line
of distinction. The word of God has invaluable meaning here!
