Sometimes it is good to see the wider perspective. It can be very helpful to step back and have a look at something from remote. When you have created a painting, step back, look other paintings, at the paintings which have been carried out in your neighborhood, your time, in the last 10 years, in your century, in all of history. {{2015_08_26.jpg }} **Perspective of Time ...** The same applies to our scientific work. Today, we employ many tools which have been unknown to the people 100 years ago. That applies to all sciences. In mathematics today, we have made significant progress, in physics the grand theories of relativity and quantum physics have evolved less than 100 years ago. Flight has emerged in technology, global travel and a truly global economy. Can we put our current activities into the grand framework? Do we see where we follow the big trends of our time, business on the internet, mobile communication, information overflow. At the same time, we are still bound in some patterns of human activitiy, which have been there ever since. War and borders, crime and fraud, egoism is florishing as ever. We see modern waves of refugees throughout the entire world in these days, which resemble the large migration waves of the late 19th and early 20th century. What have we learned about humanity? {{ 2015_08_26_2.jpg}} **Faith perspectives ...** The bible teaches us that God's grace is as far as the heaven reaches, and his truth is as far as the clouds move. He is the source of life, and in his light we find the light. Ever since humans live on this planet, God has been there to be with them. We have been promised his presence and his help - though we are also told that we are part of global tragedy and global quest. We are part of the quest for freedom, the quest for love, truth and life. What is life? Where does it start? How do you find it? God gave freedom to humans, within a this environment called earth. Freedom and a lifetime, which can be 30, 60 or 90 years. Time to do, time to choose, time for joy and sorrow. We are invited to be with him. It is a matter of choice. Salvation, as it is offered by Jesus and the bible, needs to be accepted. It needs to be searched and found, it needs to be chosen, as we are chosen. It can be ignored and rejected. But it can also be received with open heart and open arms. When we open our heart to him, his grace can fully develop in our life, come and see!
