======Encouraging Experiences ...======


Sunday, Nov 1, 2015. Where is our Christian community today? Are we living the
faith which Jesus taught us? Are we linked to God and his holy spirit? Are there
sign of encouragement? Or are we just loosing faith? Where are we? Where is
our community?

**Spirit during Holiday ...**

Over the past days we have been on a short holiday. With my wife I spent time to
look into the history of art and science. We spent many hours in some art museums
in Stuttgart, Germany. We went to the theater. We spent time in a cinema. 
And we were  guided through a bible museum today. Also, we attended an 
international worship service with a baptism this morning. 

You sometimes ask yourself: God, where are you? Where is your help? Where is your
voice. Even after decades of Christian service, these thoughts might appear. But
God is answering the questions. He has talked to me so much over the past days, 
through art, from many centuries, both through Christian art and through the art
of atheists and humans of every color. He has talked to me through the theater, 
through the play, the performance of Friday night.   

And God talked explicitly in the worship service this morning, and through the
display in the bible museum today. I was in tears, in the service. I was deeply
moved through the display of the museum. God's voice, through the biblical
texts, the interpretations, the faith of his servants - it is so helpful! Thank
you brothers and sisters in the Lord!

**God is there ...**

You might be in deep trouble. There are enough challenges and there is enough
pain for all of us. But God is there, in the middle of our night, and the middle
of our day. He does not leave us alone. He helps. He guides. He talks. Yes 
and yes and yes, he talks to us, to be with us. Every day. 

I had very encouraging images during the past days. I am not in a situation of
strength. I am rather in a weak situation. I do not know how to make things good. 
But at the same time, God gives me creativity. He gives me ideas. He gives me
new steps. Options and possibilities I did not know yesterday. I did not know them
this morning, but now they are there! This is new to me, and it is his voice
in my day. Thank you, my Lord! Thank you. 
 
I am convinced that there will be new possibilities tomorrow, and the day after
tomorrow, and every new day. There will be new ideas, new options, new solutions
to the problems of today, and of tomorrow. God, you are the creator. You are
the savior. You are God. And you are good, all the time! There will be solutions
to the problems of today and tomorrow. What a blessing! Thank you, Lord.
