Faith can be good. This needs to be said - not for those who think: why do I not experience this. But for those who are busy and try to work, for those who think they need to work more and more, who are ambitious and flexible and hard working. Calm down, life is more than work. {{2016_04_22.jpg }} **Work can be an Idol ...** Indeed, work can be an idol. We need to admit that some of us tend to work too much. We tend to be ambitious, and if we are even successful with our ambition, we tend to make the success of our work the standard we live for. We live from this, instead of going to the true sources of life. Life is not built on work. Of course, we all enjoy and use the results of hard work, the results of a competitive society where companies need to be innovative, where scientists need to be creative, where businessmen need to be efficient and cost effective. We all benefit from it, by having a rich environment, by being served by new medical methods and drugs. Work and creativity and success is an important part of our life, of our society, of our world. Still, life is more than all of this, much more. We all know. We all know that we do not want to be lonely, and that company cannot be bought by money, nor by success. Friendship is beyond all what we can do, beyond all we can deliver. It is a gift! Love is a free decision, it is a gift of people, and often we are loved for things we did not accomplish and we cannot change! {{ 2016_04_22_2.jpg}} **Love and Deeds ...** The apostle John writes to his fellow believers. Of old age, he addresses them as a father, as a friend. He guides us to a calm attitude, full of love, and full of deeds, carried out in truth: 18 Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth. 19 By this we shall know that we are of the truth and reassure our heart before him; 20 for whenever our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and he knows everything. 21 Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before God; 22 and whatever we ask we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do what pleases him. 23 And this is his commandment, that we believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as he has commanded us. 24 Whoever keeps his commandments abides in God, and God in him. And by this we know that he abides in us, by the Spirit whom he has given us. (1 John 3, 18-24) There is a deep peace we can reach here. When we abide in God and God in us - what else can be achieved? What else do we want? We have reached our home. We have reached the goal. We are, where we should be. Here, we can calm down. We can become as quiet as a child, which is fed and which is with its mother and father. All is done, all is good, in Christ, in God, in the Holy Spirit.
