I am currently in Greece, and it is well known that the state has a lot of challenges and problems. Discussions with colleagues at the local University give some insight - it is interesting to see who blames whom, who does well and who is suffering. How can you help? What can be done? {{2016_05_12.jpg }} **Wealth of Nations ...** It is of course an old question, how to achieve a good economic development for a country. It is an old question, which is asked in almost all states today. How do you prosper? How do you generate a system which develops well, where every citizen participates in the wealth of the nation? When you look into different countries, you will find various reasons for problematic development. Mostly, the reasons are quickly identified in war, conflict, missing competition, corruption, ... etc etc. Usually, these phenomena push each other. If you have corruption, it leads to conflict, it leads to injustice, which again leads to corruption. Then usually, others are blamed, and ideology is usually one part of the problem. The challenge to achieve wealth for the nations, for any nation potentially, is still one of the core goals today. It is not everything, no! But we cannot ignore it, since it affects so many people, so many who suffer, who struggle, who feel the pain day by day! {{ 2016_05_12_2.jpg}} **Faith and Prosperity ...** As Christians, we do not have prosperity as our God, but we do have the creator of the Universe as our Lord and Saviour. But we believe that God wants good things for us and for all others - and this includes also well-being, healing, both for our body and for our heart and mind. We know that it will not be reached in total within this world, the bible talks about this a lot and those passages are very important to take into account. But still, we are asked to live in a way which is reliable and full of love, which helps others to prosper and to find their own personal way of peace, joy and life! But it all does not start with prosperity. It is the other way around. You do not do well, because you have all you want. You first do well, and then you might get some of the things you want. You need justice and truth and reliability first, then you will find prosperity - if you are lucky. You need faith first, then you find peace. You need God first, then you will see what he does in your life! Some preach a gospel of prosperity. When we stay close to the biblical texts, we cannot do that. Yet, we know that God wants to do good things to us, in all our struggle, and that he will help us, where ever we are. Our goal is him, and our goal is the new world, which he has already started to create. Still, we are asked to live this world already today, in our hearts, and to be a blessing to all others.
