======Meaning and Faith ...======
Thursday, June 16, 2016. As humans we think about life. We think about our days,
about what we want to do or to reach. We think about relationships. We work
and we enjoy our free time. And we try to make sense of what happens to us. We
develop an image of our social environment. We try to determine our role in
it, our social status, the meaning of our life.

**Meaning ...**
Recently I listened to a talk of J.K.Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter books.
She talked about her life before she wrote the first book, where she was a lonely
mother without a job. She felt that her life was a complete failure. Yet, by being
a failure, she also discovered her strength and followed her goal to write the
book about the wizard Harry. We all know what came out of it - one of the most
successful books of all times.
The story of J.K.Rowling is a quite remarkable story and we can learn a lot from
it. In any case, each and every human has a dignity which is way beyond his or
her current situation. And each and every human has talents and gifts which want
to be discovered and supported to become a joy for others.
One needs to remark that J.K.Rowling argues on a completely worldly level. Currently, she seems not to know the living God, his mercy, his love and companionship. The
characters in her novels show a lot of solidarity, and she is exploring the mystery
of love and truth in her stories, the role of power and friendship and solidarity.
That is appealing by itself. Yet, why not turn to the author of creation, to
the author of love and truth and friendship, the holy God?

**Faith ...**
13 So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
(1 Cor 13, 13)
It is important to find life, YOUR life. It is important to get to a point where
you know who you are. You might find this in some worldly activity. But that will
not lead you to eternal life, it does not give you an eternal perspective, it
does not link you to the living God.
But if you find the creator through his son
Jesus, if you start to discover his fantastic love and truth and mercy
and justice. Discovering God is like suddenly being in a bright day, where you
were in a dawn before. It is like fresh air and an open mind, where you were
searching before. It is like coming home, after a long journey in a foreign
world. With him, father, son and holy spirit, you find meaning for your life,
for your talents and gifts, for your plans. He provides meaning to success
and to failure, since he is there, and he loves you and values you, what ever
happens.
