======Wisdom in the middle of Life ...======


Friday, Feb 10, 2017. Bible texts can be impressing - and they are fantastic
indeed. Sometimes you try to read and do not get through. But there are other
times, and particular passages, which reach your heart deeply! That happened
to me with the text from Proverbs 8, have a look:

**At the Crossroads ...**

1 Does not wisdom call? Does not understanding raise her voice?
2 On the heights beside the way, at the crossroads she takes her stand;
3 beside the gates in front of the town, at the entrance of the portals she cries aloud:
4 “To you, O men, I call, and my cry is to the children of man.
5 O simple ones, learn prudence; O fools, learn sense.
6 Hear, for I will speak noble things, and from my lips will come what is right,
7 for my mouth will utter truth; wickedness is an abomination to my lips.

8 All the words of my mouth are righteous; there is nothing twisted or crooked in them.
9 They are all straight to him who understands, and right to those who find knowledge.
10 Take my instruction instead of silver, and knowledge rather than choice gold,
11 for wisdom is better than jewels, and all that you may desire cannot compare with her.
12 “I, wisdom, dwell with prudence, and I find knowledge and discretion.
13 The fear of the Lord is hatred of evil. Pride and arrogance and the way of evil and perverted speech I hate.
 (from Proverbs 8) 

What a fantastic text about wisdom. It is trying to convince us to take a path
which leads to prosperity. Only with wisdom, with purity, with words and deeds which
are fully trustworthy, we will build sustainable structures and processes. Only
when we are pure we will enter the kingdom of heaven!

**In the middle of life ...**

>

One particular point which caught my attention here is: wisdom is calling at
the crossroads. It is there where we have to make decisions. It is there in our
life where we choose. We need it, to make the right decisions. And it is there,
waiting for us, even calling us, to listen!

Wisdom wants to be in the middle of life. It is not only for Sundays. It is not only
for remote places. It is not only for silent hours. It is not only for moments
of friendship. It is there in the middle of our life, in the middle of our job,
day by day at the crossroads of our life. Wisdom and understanding are waiting for
us!

Wisdom is there for everyone. It is not only for the intelligent. Not only for those
with a lot of experience. Not for the old ones, no! It is for the very young ones.
It is for the simple ones. It is for the normal people. It is there for all of us,
for all our life, day by day - in particular at the crossroads of our life! And
it is calling us, you and me!
