====== God sees in Secret ... ======
Tuesday, August 29, 2017. Where is God, humans ask. And with what we do in our life, we often
act as if there is no God. Even if we think there is a God, we act as if God would not see
what we do, what we say, what we think. But he sees everything.

** God sees ...**
Can we imagine that there is a God, who is as majestic as the universe. Can we imagine that he
sees everything? Nothing is hidden to him. Jesus claims this unbelievable ability of God. He claims
that God can do anything. And he know everything. He can see into the tiniest parts of our life.
He hears all our words. He knows all our fears. He knows our hope, our dreams, all what is
there in us and around us.
God wants to interact with us. He wants to live with us. We often treat him as a machine. We want
something, and somehow we try to get it by influencing him, by manipulating him. But that is not
what a proper relationship would be. God wants us to be his children, to relate to him, to be our
father, our mother, our companion, our friend. Let us listen to Matthew 6, a part of the sermon
on the mount:
1 “Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them, for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven. 2 “Thus, when you give to the needy, sound no trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be praised by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. 3 But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
(from Matthew 6, 1-4)

** Your heart ...**
God wants us to learn what real love is, what true love is. He does not want us to misuse love or
actions of love to gain our own advantage. That is not love, it is just manipulation.
So, when we give, and when this giving is coming from our love, we will not do it in a way to earn
from it. To make it known to others in the way indicated here is to misuse our love. It destroys
love - and Jesus clarifies that this will not help us at all, we had our reward already by taking
the advantage which we organized for ourselves.
True love is different. It wants the benefit of those who we love. It wants all the good things
for them. And it does not expect things back for what is is giving. Of course, if you love someone
you still can enjoy his or her love, you are invited to take what they give. But they are free
to give their love. It is up to them to give it. You give your love, freely, yourself.
Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. When we listen to him, we can see it. We can find out. We
can come to this eternal fantastic life - he is waiting for us, each and every day!
