In the Middle of our Life I ...

Monday, August 21, 2017. Where is God in our life? Where is he? With all the difficulties of this life, the problems on this earth, with all the trouble we have - where is God? Is it possible to believe at all? Is he there? Where? Is it all an illusion? Perhaps we should just give up completely.

Beatitudes …

Can we find God in the middle of our life? Or do we need to go to a remote mountain, or any other remote place? What is it that lets us find the creator? Where is he hiding? This is what many of us ask sometimes. How to find God? And it seems to be difficult.

Some claim that they have found. And we all know that there are different religions and different teachings - so what to believe? And why? How to gain a fundament for our faith? Should we have faith at all?

I believe that you should not have faith just picked out of the thin air. You should have a faith that has a solid foundation. And this foundation is Jesus himself, what he says, what he did and does. He is the one who God sent, he is God himself, who came to us as a human, to talk to us, and to save us. Let us listen to some of Jesus' words, from his famous sermon on the mount (Matthew 5-7):

2 And he opened his mouth and taught them, saying: 3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4 “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. 5 “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. 6 “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. 7 “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy. 8 “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. 9 “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons1 of God. (from Matthew 5, 2-8)
