How to sing? There are so many ways to sing a song. I can be completely overwhelmed by feelings. Sometimes that happened to me when I took part in the Sunday morning worship of our church in the UK. It was just fantastic - speaking in terms of my feelings during the songs. {{2010_03_18.jpg }} **When I sing** What is going on when I sing? It is still some kind of miracle to me. Music can reach deep into my heart, deep into my existence. Music can reach me when no argument sounds convincing. Songs, the words of songs in interaction with the melodies and the music can open doors of the soul which are closed otherwise. I am convinced that our words and our songs change the spiritual world around us. There is a power in the words of prayer, and there is power in the songs we sing. When you open your mind to the Lord, you will be lifted to him. You will be changed, since his Holy Spirit is there and will come to you. He is there, his power and presence, and in your song you acknowledge him and open a channel to his reality. We cannot change him, but we can realize what he is and by doing so we change our world. {{ 2010_03_18_2.jpg}} **Singing with others** Singing alone is great - singing with others is greater. When we join others in songs of worship, the spiritual processes which take place when we worship are multiplied. A congregation of believers with a humble heart will change history. God loves the small things - and his power shows itself in many steps which sometimes appear nearly invisible to us. He is powerful enough to help without shaking the earth. Singing with others links us together and it links us with God. We open our spirit to an invisible connection which an be deep and refreshing at the same time. God wants us to be one in him. When we sing together as believers we exercise and practice this unity. It is there. It can be wonderful to sing in God's amazing presence!
