======Pursue faith, love, gentleness ...======


Thursday, May 28, 2015. It is good to clarify for yourself how to
approach the day. What is it that are good guiding thoughts. What is it to
look for, to use as principle and guidance for the day.

**My goals for today ...**

My goals for today will be to some part linked to my work. I have the goal to do
good work today, to do what is needed, and to be a little bit creative as well 
(though I have meetings which basically cover my full day). 

But there are further goals. An old friend died a day ago. He just died, it seems from
a brain bleeding. It is tragic, when someone is taken out of the middle of his
life, with a family left behind. Sadness is filling my heart. On the other hand
I believe him to be well with God now, he was a very sincere believer, an active
member of our church. I want to pray, I want to search the community of the Lord. 

There are further goals. I need some time to get rest. During a full day that is
difficult to get - so perhaps later. Get rest and listen to the Lord. His words, 
as recorded in the Old Testament and New Testament, are encouraging and a source
of consolation for my soul again and again.

**Listen to the Lord ...**

There are further things, which are on my agenda. I want to gain my peace with 
respect to some other people. That is challenging, because I am upset with respect
to some behaviour, quite upset indeed. So I am searching the advice of the Lord. 
He says: 
 

11 But as for you, O man of God, flee these things. Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness.
12 Fight the good fight of the faith. 
 (1 Tim 6, 11)
 
Sometimes it is not fully clear how to act in a particular situation. The bible
gives principles, but it does not necessarily tell us: do this or that. So we need
to think ourselves. And we need to search God in prayer. He is there. He can help
us - practically. And he can talk to us to guide us and give us his advice in 
the particular challenges! Lord come! Thank you, God!
