But it is just the other way around: Christians who follow the biblical teaching will highly value wisdom and understanding on all levels of human life! Let us dig a little bit into the biblical wisdom literature, which ranges from extensive teaching in the Old Testament to the wisdom in Christ Jesus in the letters of the apostles. {{2017_01_27.jpg }} **Peace ...** In the book of Proverbs we find deep thoughts and reasoning about the wisdom of God himself. Have a look ... 13 Blessed is the one who finds wisdom, and the one who gets understanding, 14 for the gain from her is better than gain from silver and her profit better than gold. 15 She is more precious than jewels, and nothing you desire can compare with her. 16 Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor. 17 Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. 18 She is a tree of life to those who lay hold of her; those who hold her fast are called blessed. 19 The Lord by wisdom founded the earth; by understanding he established the heavens; 20 by his knowledge the deeps broke open, and the clouds drop down the dew. There is the personal layer, your life, your experiences, your fate, your health, your possessions, the value others attribute to you (honor). It is all linked to wisdom and understanding. The second level of the text talks about creation. It talks about the earth, the heavens, the depth and the clouds. It says that it has all been founded by the wisdom of God himself. So the wisdom of faith, the wisdom of ethics and the wisdom of peace in our personal life is not different from the wisdom of creation. There is no distinction here between different levels of life, or between our mind and the physical reality of this world. God's wisdom is in all of it. Science tries to understand creation. It tries to unwrap and explore the laws which fill and govern natural processes. Science is the quest to gain understanding of nature and technology on all levels, it is the quest to understand human life, both on the physical level as well as on the psychological level, the mental level, the ethical level, the social level. Blessed is who gain real wisdom and understanding here - the bible can help us to keep the balance and not get trapped into scientific illusions or the prejudice of particular ideology with a scientific label!
