What are we looking for with our life? Are we trying to get much recommendation by the press? Are we trying to be cited in books? Or do we try to achieve as many citations by scientific colleagues? That is how the system works, but should it govern us? {{2017_04_27.jpg }} **Recommendation ...** In the letter to the Corintheans the apostle Paul talks about a different type of recommendation. He talks about something else, which is of true worth! It is the work of the Holy Spirit in our hearts. That is the only thing that counts in the end: our faith, our love, our truth. The puritiy which is achieved by the cross of Christ in our hearts. Listen to the following passage, which discusses the role and target of recommendation. This idea is really fantastic, this recommendation has a true perspective. 1 Are we beginning to commend ourselves again? Or do we need, as some do, letters of recommendation to you, or from you? 2 You yourselves are our letter of recommendation, written on our hearts, to be known and read by all. 3 And you show that you are a letter from Christ delivered by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts. This is since his spirit and his word comes into our heart. Faith is the answer, it is our thoughts, our actions, our emotions when he fills our heart and our mind. We are a letter from him. This letter is not written by ink, but with the spirit of the living God. It is written on tables of human hearts. Often, we humans try to search for something which is lasting - and what is in the hearts and minds of humans seems the least in this ranking. But for Paul it is the most important! Think about it. Where do you find a home? Where does your heart come to peace? It is with the Lord, it is when the spirit of Jesus comes into your heart and your mind. It is when you follow him - not on an empty level of rules, but by heart. When God's love fills your life in a way such that all other things fall into place.
