Word of God ...
Monday, Feb 22, 2016. Sometimes you search for good words. Where are people who can encourage, who have words which are full of truth and of wisdom? Where are those who speak in a balanced way?

Listening to the news articles, it is often hard to find such balanced words. When there are conflicts, many people push the conflicts. It is good for newspapers and journals to stir as many emotions as possible. Over the past days I have read too many bad articles again, leaving out basic facts and trying to to put particular groups or political opinions into a bad light.
Where are words which are helpful and good? Where are people who are helpful and good. I do not mean blind to problems. I mean with enough wisdom and insight to solve the problems, to name them, to put a hand on it and then act in a good and balanced way!
So I was looking for good words, and I ended up in the bible again. You might say that it is clear, because I always end up there. But first, that is not true, and second, it has a reason why the bible has influenced so many people. It is just a fantastic book with words which are much deeper than anything else written during our cultural history.
Bible words …
The bible contains quite clear words. Problems are not put under the carpet. They are names, openly. There are clear warnings. There is clear advice: do good, stay calm, speak words of wisdom and words of peace. It is just good to listen, to come with an open heart, an open ear, an open mind:
1 A Song of Ascents. Of David. I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord!” 2 Our feet have been standing within your gates, O Jerusalem! 3 Jerusalem—built as a city that is bound firmly together, 4 to which the tribes go up, the tribes of the Lord, as was decreed for1 Israel, to give thanks to the name of the Lord. 5 There thrones for judgment were set, the thrones of the house of David. 6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem! “May they be secure who love you! 7 Peace be within your walls and security within your towers!” 8 For my brothers and companions’ sake I will say, “Peace be within you!” 9 For the sake of the house of the Lord our God, I will seek your good. Peace is a topic of the bible, again and again. There is too much fighting, too much quarrel, too much evil. But we are called to find peace, to give peace and to contribute to peace.
