Tuesday, Jan 1, 2023. Good morning! What is valuable to you in the new year 2023? What are the core things which attract you? What is it that is most worth for your life?

** Found great Value ... **

In my own life I made a lot of different experiences with things or people of high value. Of course, to be in a great family is of high value. To find a precious partner is of high value. Friends are of huge value. It is great to learn about nature, to learn sciences, to gain insight into how the world works. Also, music is of high value to me, I learned to play the piano, the violine, the guitar. I also found it valuable to be able to work for my expenses. To succeed in your work is very satisfactory and nice. It can be great to make some kind of career, to be given responsibility. 
 
But in all of the above, I found much greater value. All the above cannot even be compared to this greater value, to what I found. All the above is tiny value compared to Jesus, to the eternal God in father, son and holy spirit. 
That does not make things small, not the love I have for people and for great activity. But it puts things into perspective.

** Why? ... **

Why is Jesus so precious? What is so valuable about a person which lived 2000 years ago? The answer is simple and deep at the same time. Jesus is nothing less than God himself, the creator, the word, which was at the beginning. He is the beginning and the end. He is the one who made everything. He is in everything, and at the same time beyond all things. His eyes see our deepest thoughts and longings. At the same time he is much more than creation, he is the eternal God. 

The bible communicates Jesus as the target point of God's salvation story. It is a salvation of a state of being lost. It is a salvation of a state of loosing the connection to the origin of love and justice and purity.  

To think about the state of humanity can be breathtaking, when you do it in the light of the eternal God, in the light of Jesus of Nazareth. He is a continuing source of insight, of purity and gentleness, of power and justice and hope. He is, he is with me, and he is there for everyone who asks for him with sincerity and a willing heart.
