Negative or Positive? ...

Good morning. Friday, Jan 16, 2008. There are days when you ask yourself: what is reality? Sometimes we perceive things as negative. On other days these things seem to be no problem at all. Sometimes I am perfectly happy with my job. On some days I would like to quit as soon as possible.

This phenomenon also affects faith. Some day I wake up and think: why in the world does not everyone believe in Jesus. Other days I wake up and cannot believe myself. Of course things are not such volatile all the time, and when I start to think or orient myself then my insight into the faith in Jesus comes back quickly. But it is extremely interesting to observe the feelings and their consequences. Are we driven by reason? I often doubt that this is the case. Too many factors are there which influence humans. We do not follow classical arguments of reason nor scientific arguments. Science itself seems to be deeply influenced by factors not coming from science!

What is a sound fundament, if our perception changes significantly? Jesus said that God himself is such a fundament (God as a being, not our idea about him!) If God is reliable and trustworthy, that is a fantastic thing! That is something I need to explore in more depth … [R.P., Reading, UK]
