Faith and Love. ...

Good morning. Monday, Jan 25, 2008. Faith and love are key topics of Jesus. Also, the apostle Paul talks about faith and love again and again, and so do Pete, James and John in the New Testament. Faith is the special relationship we can have towards God, where we base our life on him, where he becomes the center point and focus of all we are and do. Love cannot be separated from this: God himself is called “the love”. He is so much of love that it is difficult for us to fully understand.

Why are faith and love important in daily life? Because they point us to the important things and make sure that we are not distracted by unimportant things. There is a lot which can keep us busy and take away all our time - without really being central to our life, to our existence. Of course we should do our work, develop our communities, institutions and companies. But we should do it wisely and in faith and love.

Faith and love does not mean that we will be able to avoid conflict. On the contrary, we will have a lot of conflicts when we start to search for sustainable solutions which help society - since this leads to conflict with the egoism which drives much of our world.
