Understanding myself ...

Friday, Feb 13, 2009. What do we do with the bible? How can we read this book? What is its role? Do we understand what is written here? Do we understand our own life, our culture? Sometime I think that it is basically the same: understanding Jesus and the bible and understanding my own life.

Trying to understand myself is a fantastic journey. Perhaps not everyone is interested in this - sometimes it seems that too many of us are more interested in films, party and fun in our life than anything else. Others are fully dedicated to enhancing their career. But deep inside I found that most people want to touch the basics of life and understand them!

The bible speaks about the life with God, which will lead me to change my view on myself. When we get to know God it is like a mirror which helps us to see our own life, our wishes and dreams, our frustrations, old injuries and pain. But God is also like some medicine, which heals our whole existence - if we more and more dare to relate to him. The bible is Gods tool to talk to us, to lead us, to be with us. Of course he is more than a single book. But he decided to use this book in a particular way and to put his words into it in a curious and fantastic manner. Read and see! [R.P., Reading, UK]
