Monday, May 2, 2011. What is of value for me? Where do I invest my ressources? Where do I invest myself? When we talk about treature, then this question is always part of the story. Value has to do with choice and choice with what I see in something, what relationship I have to it.

What makes things valuable? What is the value which I see in something or someone? Do you need to see a value in some person? Why not just like it? True, every human has a deep value! But there are things to say …

Why am I fascinated by Jesus? …

When we talk about faith, this is about Jesus. He is the key person of the New Testament, even of the whole bible. But why? There are stories, where people meet him and then run into their village shouting: come and see!

So why am I fascinated by Jesus? Why are you fascinated, if you are?

It might not be the most important thing in the world to know, why you like someone. The most important thing is to like and to love. But when you love something, there are often things you express. You say what you feel, you realize the beauty, you see things which are fantastic. They constitute some “why”.

He is true, truthfull, the truth …

When I think of Jesus, there are many things which come to my mind immediately. One is: he is true. Somehow, this guy is authentic! He is full of truth. You would not think that he plays a game with you. His personality seems to be what he really is.

And more than authenticity. People who met Jesus realized, that they themselves could not continue with the games of life, they played. They became truthfull themselves. Somehow he had a way to act, which made them change. Some did this by free choice. They wanted to see the truth about themselves, about their life. Others were forced to do so. He chose quite strong words, to point people to their complete failure, where necessary.

The bible calls Jesus “the truth”. That is much more than just authenticity. It is more than saying he would be truthful. Being the truth means that in and with him, we can find truth only.
