What is shaping our life? ...

Shaping our life …

But there are more things shaping our life. What we want is shaping our life. We are shaping it ourselves by the priorities we set, by the dreams we dream, by the tasks we pursue. When we try to reach a particular goal, we shape our life. When we love something, we change ourselves and also our environment.

The circumstances, the environment, everything around us is shaping our life. But it is not one way only. We are a very important part of this process. The way we react is shaping things. We have the freedom to choose, what we want to do. You can always choose! Our reaction has crucial influence on our life, and we can make decisions all the time.

We have so many hours every day. And we can choose to work thoroughly. We can choose to be careful, to put effort into things. Or we can choose to let things go, to be lazy. Our choices will influence our future. Even in difficult situations: we can choose to leave. We can choose to fight. We can choose to accept things. Mostly it is even more complicated - the particular way we deal with the things makes a difference.

When we choose faith, then faith will be shaping our life. And with faith, God himself will be there to shape us. He wants us to develop his character, to be like he is. He wants us to learn from him. Jesus formulated this invitation many times, his whole life is dedicated to this invitation to us humans: “Come!”

Christian faith is the invitation to follow Jesus and let him shape our life. The adventure of discipleship is fantastic. He wants me and you today, wants us to turn to him and open our heart. He wants to shape us into an image of his eternal grace, truth and love. ... more texts
