Tuesday, Feb 5, 2013. When you want to carry out good public work, you need preparation. When you want to publish, and your words are meant to have some solid foundation, it is necessary to have this foundation!

Articles without ground …

There are so many articles today, which just work towards emotions. It is a business! Articles need to be written, every day. They need to be produced. They need to be published. So many of us journalists write and write and write.

There used to be some ethics of writing, that first you get the facts right. But we tend to put a lower priority to facts today. The problem comes from the overload which we have described already. Who wants to know facts?

I can tell you some people, who wants to know the facts. I myself want to know the facts. I want to understand the situation. I want more than just a confirmation of my prejudice. I want more than emotions! Emotions are good - but not sufficient. It is as if you would have a mind without emotions and personality. You would be a mere robot. But without facts and without reasoning your emotions are just a fluid without direction. Your body needs flesh and bones. With flesh alone, it cannot walk. With bones alone neither!

Good preparation …

So we need to prepare our mind and our heart. We need a solid basis. When it comes to faith, that means that we need to know, who God is. We need to know him. And we need to live with him. Without faith, living faith, you will never be able to find the right words about the Lord. Your words will either be empty, or even completely wrong and lead people into the wrong direction.

The fundament of faith is Christ himself. He is our centre. He is our basis. He is everything for us. Jesus is the one who was at the beginning, when creation took place. He is the wisdom, who was there when the Old Testament evolved. And he is the centre of the New Testament, of all the gospels, of the letters of the apostles. He is the living Lord until today, in and around us with his Holy Spirit!

Living faith is fantastic, and it is desperately needed. Without trust, without truth, without love, life is nothing. But he IS love, he IS the truth, he IS trust. There is nothing more trustworthy on earth than the living Lord. Living faith, prayer, knowing a healthy doctrine, all that builds up a fundament on which we can talk about our insight, about our experiences and about a fantastic God, who wants to be with every single human on the planet! ... more texts
